About Mirror Image Academy
Our program is designed to teach teen girls the basics of makeup and a new form of self-expression. We believe that teens need support navigating the beauty industry and combating today's beauty standard for women. Makeup should not be used as a solution to a lack of self-acceptance, but as a form of self-expression.
This summer we are offering an 8-week program teaching girls basic makeup techniques, developing their artistic ability, educating them on self-love, and understanding opportunities in the beauty industry.

Our Vision and Mission
Mirror Image Academy empowers individuals through the art and business of makeup. We provide innovative training in beauty, special effects, and industry-focused skills, fostering creativity, confidence, and career opportunities in the beauty and entertainment industries.
Our vision is to cultivate a new generation of confident, skilled artists who use makeup as a tool for creativity, self-expression, and professional success in beauty, TV, and film.

Why are you having a makeup class for teens?
"I'm doing a makeup program for teen girls because many are already exploring makeup, and I want to help them navigate this world in a positive, empowering way. Makeup can be a powerful form of creative self-expression, but without the right guidance, it can lead to unrealistic beauty standards.
In this program, I teach not only makeup skills but also life lessons in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. My goal is to help girls appreciate their natural features and unique look while using makeup as a way to express themselves creatively and confidently."

Will the girls learn to do full face makeup?
Yes and no. While the girls will learn essential makeup skills, the focus at the start of the program will be on eye looks and enhancing their natural features. We believe it's important for them to embrace their unique beauty and express themselves creatively, so we’ll avoid full-face makeup like foundation, contouring, and more "adult" styles. This approach helps foster self-awareness and self-acceptance, which are key themes in our program.
As they develop their skills, we will introduce more advanced techniques that can be useful for those interested in entrepreneurship and career exploration in the beauty industry. The goal is to provide them with a solid foundation in makeup artistry while also encouraging personal growth and self-expression, ensuring that they are prepared for both professional opportunities and personal confidence.
